36 greetings, 2022

Mariko Asabuki is a novelist and winner of the 144th Akutagawa Prize. “I thought if I were to visit Ishinomaki and the Oshika Peninsula and write something, all I would be able to do is touch my cap to the time spent on the road. Visiting Ishinomaki from spring to summer, I have written about the time on the road, the human and nonhuman, the birds on a generator atop Mount Hiyori, a food court inside a mall in Hebita, marine life, sacred whales, and the time I spent drifting around Ishinomaki.” (Mariko Asabuki)
