Sou Fujimoto
Cloud pavilion, 2021

Sou Fujimoto, the architect of the MARUHON makiart terrace that opened in 2021, designed a cloud-shaped pavilion. He expresses his admiration for clouds, and his belief that they are “the ultimate architecture that envelops all kinds of things with their immense size.” Inspired by clouds that float over countries, regions, and environments, as if they were the “roof over the world,” he has designed the pavilion under the concept of “a place for everyone” to embody diversity and tolerance.
